Everyday Equity

Early childhood is the time when prejudices and preferences are first formed. In fact, that’s when we adults formed our own prejudices and preferences which today are so difficult for us to overcome in our everyday interactions, to admit to ourselves, or even clearly to see.

In this guide, early childhood practitioners find out about the effects of early discrimination and bias, how these develop, and what practical steps we as teachers and caregivers must take to become more inclusive and open-minded. If we truly love children, as we say we do, then only by embracing everyday equity can we create the future we want for our children and provide equal outcomes for all the children in our care.
